Noah, check your math, 450,000 gallons for 12 million dollars yeilds $26.67/ gal.  If the navy pays $4.00 for bunker #2 that’s 6.67 times more expensive for the bio-fuel folly!  What politicians...

This is absolutely stupid.  With our government running huge deficits, how in the world could the Navy by fuel at $28/gal?  I suspect another solyndra type deal with Obama donors getting the money.

One of the members of Obama’s transition team, T. J. Glauthier, is a “strategic advisor” to Solazyme (one of the companies mentioned in the article).  I wonder how much he made on this deal.
